Change Document Template
This will affect the entire document and adjust all formatting.
- While viewing the document, open the Project widget
- Select the three dots to the right of the project title
- Select Settings
- Open the Current Document's Template drop-down
- Select the desired template
- Select Done
- If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
- Select Apply Template
- We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.

- Select Format > Document Template > Default Templates
- Select the desired template
- If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
- Select Apply Template
- We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.

- Select Customize > Misc
- Next to Document Type, open the drop-down
- Select the desired template
- If there is content in the document, it will ask if you want to confirm the template change.
- Select Apply Template
- We suggest refreshing the page twice to ensure formatting has been properly applied to the whole document.
Create Your Own Template - Pro Feature
This will save any formatting changes you have made, so you can use this template again and again. To customize your formatting, see the articles in Format.
- After you have customized the document's formatting, select Format > Document Template > Export Template
- Select the desired option:
- Formatting Only will export only the formatting
- Include Content will include all of the content in the doc
- The template will save to your device as a .wdt file
- In the Browser app, it will save to your downloads as: [Project Title].wdt
- In the Desktop app, you can select the save-to location and the title for the file.
Apply Your Own Template - Pro Feature
- Open the project/document you wish to apply the template to.
- Select Format > Document Template > Apply Template
- If you have content, it will ask you to confirm this action
- Select Continue
- Select Choose File
- Select the file from its saved location on your device
- The template will be applied to the document.
