Find and Replace

Open the Find Tool

1. Press Ctrl/Cmd + F

OR

1. Select Edit > Find

Find a Word or Phrase

1. Open the Find tool
2. In the Find field, enter the word or phrase you are looking for
3. As needed, select Advanced at the bottom right to choose additional options
   1. Advanced options include:
      1. Case sensitive - will only find the words that match the upper/lowercase letters typed in the search.
      2. Whole word - will only find instances of the whole work used. It will not find instances where the word is used as part of a larger word
      3. Capitalized - will only find instances of the word where the first letter or the full word is capitalized.
      4. Line Types - limit the search to specific line types or exclude certain line types from the search
      5. Tags - limited the search to lines that include or exclude specific tags
4. Press Enter/Return or select the magnifying glass icon
   1. Found words will be highlighted in color. 
   2. The word you are currently on will be highlighted in gray.
5. Use the left and right arrows to navigate through the found words

4. Press Enter/Return or select the magnifying glass icon
   1. Found words will be highlighted in color. 
   2. The word you are currently on will be highlighted in gray.
5. Use the left and right arrows to navigate through the found words
6. In the Replace field, enter the word or phrase you would like to replace the found word(s) with
   1. As needed, select the option to Preserve case, which will maintain the upper/lowercase letters typed in the Replace field.
7. Select the desired replace action
   1. Two arrows icon - will replace only the found word you are currently on (highlighted in gray)
   2. Four arrows icon - will replace all instances of the found word for the entire document.

Close the Find Tool

1. Select Find above the Find Tool modal
